The election for a new Township of Tiny Council is coming in October and your voice is important! Candidate registration is taking place now. The FLCA is strongly encouraging all eligible voters to register and vote – don’t wait until the fall. Go to the Township online voter registration page to check your status and make the necessary additions or changes. To help you make an informed choice come election time, the FLCA will be providing members with important information regarding registration, voting and most importantly, information regarding candidates. Information can also be found on the Tiny Township web site . It’s important to note that the Township of Tiny will only be offering voting by internet and phone – there will be no mail-in ballots. Voting will take place from Tuesday, October 13, 2026, until Monday, October 26, 2026, at 8:00 p.m.
There are five positions to be elected: Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and three Councillors. The FLCA will not be supporting any individual candidates. We will simply be ensuring that you as a community member and potential voter have as much information as possible to make an informed choice in October. Information on candidates will be available in a number of ways:
- Relevant election news and responses to a series of questions relevant to our community that we are asking candidates relevant to our community prior to the election published through Ripples (FLCA’s newsletter) and FLCA elerts.
- Tiny2026– a comprehensive web site put together by the TinyTRA (Tiny Township Residents Alliance) that includes information about the election and the candidates.
- Tiny TRA podcasts – Short interviews with each candidate registered through the Tiny2026 election process.
- FoTTSA and FoTTSA Flash.
- Individual candidates’ own communication sites and tools.
Tiny 2022 elections saw less than a third of eligible voters cast a vote. Tiny is facing several challenging issues related to environmental, legal (bylaws), financial, and social issues that will impact affordability and the quality of life in our community. It is imperative that we get as many voters as possible to participate in the next election to ensure a representative council for the future aligned with the issues and positions you feel are most important. A diverse, open minded, and transparent council will best provide the governance our community deserves, and you as a voter will determine if we get such leadership.
