Election 2026 – Candidate Information

The election for a new Township of Tiny Council fast approaching and your voice is important!  Please make sure you get out and vote.

The FLCA is providing members with important information regarding candidates. We sent all the candidates a series of multiple choice questions relevant to residents of Farlain Lake and nine took the time to respond.  Those not responding send a clear message about their support for Farlain Lake, which should be considered when casting your votes.  You can view the answers we received in this downloadable spreadsheet Candidate Questionnaire Responses Summary.  Note that any cell in the spreadsheet that has a coloured tag in the upper right corner has further commentary from the candidate.

Additional information on candidates is available in a number of ways:

  • Tiny2026– a comprehensive web site put together by the TinyTRA (Tiny Township Residents Alliance) that includes information about the election and the candidates.
  • Tiny TRA podcasts – Short interviews with each candidate registered through the Tiny2026 election process.
  • FoTTSA  and FoTTSA Flash.
  • Individual candidates’ own communication sites and tools.

Tiny 2022 elections saw less than a third of eligible voters cast a vote. Tiny is facing several challenging issues  related to environmental, legal (bylaws), financial, and social issues that will impact affordability and the quality of life in our community. It is imperative that we get as many voters as possible to participate in the next election to ensure a representative council for the future aligned with the issues and positions you feel are most important. A diverse, open minded, and transparent council will best provide the governance our community deserves, and you as a voter will determine if we get such leadership.

It’s important to note that the Township of Tiny will only be offering voting by internet and phone – there will be no mail-in ballots. Voting will take place from Tuesday, October 13, 2026, until Monday, October 26, 2026, at 8:00 p.m.
