Many many thanks go to almost 50 volunteers who worked hard over the weekends of August 17 and 24 to harvest the Eurasian Watermilfoil as the final stage in our EWM management project for this summer!!  Everyone worked so hard – preparing equipment, filling sandbags, manning the two pontoon boats, skimming, transportation of equipment, materials and people, providing food and refreshments and the list goes on.  A special thank you to our EWM Steering Committee for their hundreds of volunteer hours in the planning, development, preparation and pure hard labour to make it all happen. Four areas of infestation were attacked with cutting and laying down bottom barriers – the original pioneer colony plus three offshore areas. Evaluation and reports are now under way and will be shared with members over the next month or so. Details and photos will be posted to the website.
