Farlain – Lake High Water Levels Information Request
To all fellow Farlain Lake residents in any capacity: permanent, seasonal, waterfront, backlots, and all other roads and property that make up our Farlain Lake community!
Farlain Lake has experienced sustained high water which started around 2015, reaching the current record levels in 2026. The High-Water Group working on behalf of the Farlain Lake Community Association (FLCA) is collecting information from property owners to better understand the impacts of the elevated water levels around the lake.
The information collected will help document shoreline impacts, property damage, mitigation measures undertaken by residents, and the associated costs. Photos, surveys, and other supporting information may be incorporated into future reports and submissions to government agencies, the Township of Tiny, and other stakeholders.
The goal is to develop a clear, evidence-informed understanding of how changing water levels are affecting properties around Farlain Lake and to support the consideration of future monitoring, assessment, and management options.
You do not need to be an FLCA member to participate, and you do not need to have excessive damage. Every property’s information matter including “no damage” responses.
We are requiring submissions by July 10 as we do need to submit to the Township of Tiny as soon as possible. It will take about 15–20 minutes to fill in the form.
Before starting this survey, please prepare your photos and documents submitted by renaming each file with the year and address — (e.g., 1992-67FarlainW.jpg or 1992-67FarlainW.pdf).
Older, current photos, and land surveys are all valuable. We would prefer you to hand them over in person OR, if you are not tech savvy or can not log into the weblink, we have fellow neighbours ready to help and step in! We can scan or take pictures of your old photos or take current pictures of your shorelines! We can also take your information and fill out this form with you! Please don’t hesitate to reach out and let us know!
The link for uploading all images and pdf documents will be at the end of this survey!
You may have already seen the signage around the lake or received a card in your mailbox or dropped off at your cottage. The QR codes on the signage and cards allows for easy scanning! Below is the website to access the questionnaire.

Thank you for your assistance! The more property owners who respond; waterfront and backlots, the more accurate our understanding of the lake-wide high-water conditions and impacts will be.
If you know of any neighbours, who may need help and passing on this information that would be very helpful.
We appreciate your time!! You can also reach out to me with any questions; I really don’t mind updating anyone of what we are trying to accomplish!
Thank you

Tiny Township Proposed Potential Strategy Under the Drainage Act
The attached report PWR-022-25 – Farlain Lake Water Levels – Pdf was prepared by the public works department of Tiny Township in response to a deputation made by some members of the Farlain Lake community in June of 2025. At the August meeting, Council approved staff’s recommendation to proceed with Option #3, although there was also some consideration to the need for a hydrogeological study as outlined in Option #2. The next step was for the Township to hold a public information meeting (PIC) which would include the Township Drainage Superintendent, and focus on educating the public as to how the process outlined in the report would work, including potential costs to residents.
That meeting was held on November 25 and the recording is available on the Township’s YouTube channel. Members of the community are strongly encouraged to view the recording in order to understand the process that would be involved under the Drainage Act. You can review the attached Summary of November 25, 2025 Public Info Meeting which has been prepared in consultation with the Township.
