Fire Smart Program and BBQ

The risk of wildfires in Canada continues to grow and FireSmart Community Preparedness is an important program run by FireSmart Canada. Although the Day was officially held on May 2, we’re holding our own special event later in the summer with the help once more of the Tiny Township fire department, when we have a larger audience available. Once again we’re very happy to have received a grant from FireSmart Canada in support of the program, and this year will be offering a community BBQ.

Join us to learn what you can do to increase your home, neighbourhood and our community’s resilience to wildfire, enjoy a BBQ and the chance to meet your lake colleagues, win prizes, meet Sparky and introduce your kids to the importance of fire prevention!  Have a look at the photos on the left from our first FireSmart Day held in 2025!
